Kate grew up in a seaside suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, in a family with six brothers. Her two passions as a child were to spend as much time at the beach, mostly with a couple of her younger brothers in tow, and to curl up with a book.
Kate's love of books never left her, and she always wanted to write. But it was not until an extended caravan holiday around Australia, with husband Peter, that Kate began writing in earnest. Beginning with travel articles about places they visited, and when these were accepted for publication by travel magazines, Kate began to think she might just possibly be able to write a novel.
It was the beautiful, fascinating, and sometimes dangerous, far north of Queensland that was the inspiration for Kate's first novel, ‘Inheritance’. Its publication, and ongoing approval by her readers, encouraged Kate to continue writing.
Kate now writes Australian contemporary and historical fiction, and as long as you tell her, in reviews and emails, that you enjoy what she writes, Kate will continue doing so.
Kate loves chocolate, fine wines, dogs, music, and seeing new places.
In her past life Kate was a bookkeeper and a beauty therapist. Now she enjoys spending time with her husband, her family, and friends...
Oh yes...and reading and writing!
